Strike 2

The Strike 2 itself has made a new leap forwards for 2005. Like the Strike 1 it’s a medium aspect ratio, universal kite aimed at all levels of kiteboarder. A new feature is that it can be used with a 4 line set up with the option to upgrade to the new Flexifoil 5th line control system.

The 5th line introduces a new safety and relaunch system and creates a much wider wind window. It enables direct control of the angle of attack of the centre of the kite. This allows the kite to be setup so the kite will sit further forward in the window, extending the top end of the wind range.

Riders who like a ‘powerful feel’ or are trying to maximise kite power should not use the 5th line system. Riders who want a more vertical jump, with larger wind range and lighter bar pressure should use the 5th line system.

Firestorm

Last year Flexifoil rider Aaron Hadlow became the PKRA World Champion using the Storm III. This year he intends to do the same using the scorching new Flexifoil Firestorm.

The Firestorm is the latest and greatest of the famous Storm series and is what we believe to be the finest performing high aspect kite available in the world. It’s fully loaded with a host of performance enhancing features:

• The speed of turning has yet again been improved upon - even from last years lightning fast design, more options for turn rate are available on the kite. Trust us - you might even want to slow it down!
• The Firestorm’s 5th line system expands its already extraordinary wind range and adding the fringe benefits of lighter bar pressure, a huge vertical boost and makes for an effortless re-launch system. The Firestorm can be flown as a 4-line or 5th line upgradeable kite in 7m, 9m and 12m.
• The 15 & 18.5 have been designed to be used with are 5th line only and should only be flown this way. This is to help keep the ultra slim (Cambridge University wind tunnel tested!) leading edges in shape, making way for fantastic upwind ability greater speed of turn and total reliable re-launch in light winds.
• The Firestorm also has greater stability than previous high aspect designs. Some of this can be accredited by the new material trailing edge, combined with new trailing edge dampeners ‘Anti-Flutter’ devices. These ease the airflow as it leaves the canopy, creating an extremely stable kite despite its high aspect ratio.
• New for the larger sizes are break-down battens on the 12m, 15m and 18.5m. These sizes now pack down to half their size compared to last year, perfect for lugging kites through airports.

The kite is finished with a flowing graffiti graphic – inspired by world champion Aaron Hadlow. If you’re at the top of the game this kite is for you.
